Herts Chess League

Fixtures relating to our club in the Hertfordshire Chess League and related Knock-Out tournament draws are as follows:

Under 1600 Cup:

Lost in the quarter final vs Bishops Stortford

Russell Trophy: Finalists

We won a tight quarter-final away to Hertford on board count – a win for Matt on board 1 and a loss for Sean on board 4 with the other 4 games drawn. 

In the semi-final we were able to beat Bishops Stortford at home reasonably easily 4-2 with wins for Matt on board 2 and Sammy on board 5 and again draws on the other boards.

The final was against Little Heath away – we played away from their usual venue at a very nice retirement home – our hosts put on a spread and live-streamed Ian M’s game on board 5 to the internet! Unfortunately we were out-gunned and lost the final 4.5-1.5.

Sharp Trophy: Semi finalists

Quarter-Final: Home to Hoddesdon. Won 5 – 1
Semi Final: Away at Bishops Stortford. Lost 3.5 – 2.5. BS went on to win the trophy.
